The back stitch is used to make outlines, straight lines, and curved lines. This stitch is also a popular choice for letters and stems.
How to Do a Back Stitch:
- Bring your needle up from the back to the front of the fabric. Make one running stitch.
- Keeping an equal distance between your stitches, bring your needle up to the front of the fabric, then bring it back down at the same spot as your last stitch.
- Keep repeating step 2, by bringing your needle back to the previous stitch each time.
Tip:
- When making curved lines, use shorter stitches. This will give your lines a smoother appearance.
